Irregular Polygon Area from Side Lengths
Side lengths alone don’t fix the area of a shape with four or more sides: the same four sides can make a tall shape or a flat one. Add a diagonal or the angles, then split the shape into triangles and use Heron’s formula for each:
A = √( s(s − a)(s − b)(s − c) ), s = (a + b + c) / 2Or switch to coordinates, which fix the shape exactly.
