BDO Caphras Calculator: Stones, Cost & Stat Gain for TET and PEN

This BDO Caphras calculator tells you exactly how many Caphras Stones you need between any two Caphras levels, what that costs in silver at your market price, and the stats you gain, for TET and PEN gear in Black Desert Online.

Pick your enhancement level and gear type, set your current and target Caphras level, and the calculator shows the stones required, the stones still to farm or buy after the ones you already own, the silver cost and a level-by-level breakdown. Below the calculator are the full Caphras charts, the cost formulas and the rules for Caphras level 20 and enhancement.

How to Use the BDO Caphras Calculator

Picking Your Gear and Levels

  • Enhancement level: choose TET (IV) or PEN (V). The same gear needs different amounts of Caphras at each enhancement level.
  • Gear: pick the category that matches your item. Each option shows the stones needed to fill it from C0 to C20.
  • Current and target Caphras level: C0 to C19 for the current level, C1 to C20 for the target. Select Fill to C20 to jump straight to the maximum.
  • Caphras Stone price: the price you pay on the Central Market. The calculator uses it for every silver figure.
  • Stones you already have: optional. The calculator subtracts them and shows how far they take you.

Reading the Results

The headline figure is the stones needed for the upgrade you chose. Under it you get:

  • Stones still needed after the ones you own, and the silver that costs.
  • The silver for the whole upgrade, ignoring what you own.
  • The stones from C0 to your target and from C0 to C20, so you can see how far into the chart you are.
  • A stat table with the exact values at both levels and the gain.
  • A level-by-level breakdown, with the levels your current stones already cover shaded green.

What Caphras Stones Do

Caphras Stones add levels to a piece of gear without any risk of failure. Each stone adds Caphras EXP, each Caphras level adds stats, and the levels run from C1 to C20. Nothing breaks and no enhancement chance is involved: the only cost is the stones.

Which Gear Can Take Caphras Stones

Caphras Stones work on weapons and armor at TRI and above. Several item groups are excluded, including Blackstar gear, Godr-Ayed weapons, Fallen God armor, Labreska helmet, Dahn’s gloves, Ator’s shoes, accessories, and Naru, Tuvala and main-quest gear. The calculator covers the TET and PEN charts, the two enhancement levels where almost all Caphras is spent.

What Each Caphras Level Gives

The stat depends on the item. Weapons gain AP and accuracy, armor gains evasion, damage reduction and HP (with hidden evasion and hidden damage reduction on top), and sub-weapons gain accuracy with smaller defensive stats. The calculator lists the exact values at your two levels, because the gain is not the same from one level to the next.

How Caphras Stones Are Calculated

Every Caphras level has a fixed stone requirement, so the stones between two levels are the difference between the two totals:

Stones needed = Total stones at target level − Total stones at current level

Where:

  • Total stones at a level = the sum of every level requirement up to it (the running total in the charts below)
  • Current level = the Caphras level the item is on now
  • Target level = the Caphras level you want

For PEN boss armor going from C0 to C10, the total at C10 is 7,224 stones and the total at C0 is 0, so:

Stones needed = 7,224 − 0 = 7,224 stones

Going from C5 to C10 on the same armor, the total at C5 is 1,710, so the stones needed are 7,224 − 1,710 = 5,514.

Silver Cost Formula

Silver cost = Stones still needed × Caphras Stone price

Where stones still needed is the requirement minus the stones in your inventory:

Stones still needed = Stones needed − Stones you already have

Worked Example: PEN Boss Armor C0 to C10

  • Stones needed: 7,224
  • Stones owned: 4,000, so stones still needed = 7,224 − 4,000 = 3,224
  • At an example price of 3,000,000 silver each: 3,224 × 3,000,000 = 9,672,000,000 (9.67 billion) silver

Change the price in the calculator to whatever Caphras Stones cost on your region’s market, and every figure updates.

Using Stones You Already Have

The calculator also works out how far your current stones reach. With 4,000 stones on a PEN boss armor at C0, the breakdown shades every level you can already pay for, so you can see whether farming a little longer gets you one more level.

Where the Chart Jumps

The steps are not even. The first four levels are cheap, level 5 more than doubles the cost, and level 7 jumps again. From C11 upward each level costs about 40 stones more than the last, so the late levels are expensive but predictable.

PEN Weapon Caphras Charts

Boss Main Weapon and Sub-Weapon

Boss main weapons (such as Kzarka, Offin and the Kutum main weapon) and boss sub-weapons (such as Nouver, Kutum and Vangertz) share the same stone chart: 29,403 stones from C0 to C20. The stats differ: the main weapon gains AP and accuracy, the sub-weapon mostly accuracy with some defensive stats.

Boss Awakening Weapon

Awakening weapons such as the Dandelion weapons use a higher chart: 33,768 stones from C0 to C20, about 15% more than a main weapon, for the same AP and accuracy gains. Getting the gear type right matters: using the main-weapon chart for an awakening weapon understates the cost by 4,365 stones over a full fill.

TET Caphras Totals by Gear

TET gear needs far fewer stones per level, which is why many players fill TET pieces to C20 before enhancing them.

Caphras Level 20 and Guaranteed Enhancement

Caphras level 20 does more than add stats. Once an item reaches C20 it can be enhanced to the next level with a 100% success chance, although the attempt drops the item’s max durability to 0 and resets the Caphras level. This is the route many players take from TET to PEN, and it is why the TET charts matter as much as the PEN ones.

What Happens to Your Caphras Level When You Enhance

Successful Enhancement

The item keeps its new enhancement level, but only 10% of the Caphras EXP carries over, so the Caphras level effectively resets. Treat stones spent below C20 as spent for the stats you get now, not as an investment that follows the item up.

Failed Enhancement

On a failure without Cron Stones, 50% of the Caphras EXP is kept. If you used Cron Stones, 5% of the Crons spent are converted into Caphras EXP instead.

Which Caphras Level to Stop At

Because the cost per level rises and the stats per level do not, many players stop at a level that fits their budget rather than filling to C20. The calculator makes that comparison directly: check the stat gain and silver cost for C0 to C5, C10 and C15 and pick the point where the gain stops being worth the stones.

Caphras Cost Examples in Silver

At an example price of 3,000,000 silver per stone, a full fill from C0 costs:

How to Get Caphras Stones

  • Grinding: Caphras Stones drop from monsters in the higher-level grind zones.
  • Gathering: they appear as a rare drop while gathering.
  • Alchemy: they can be crafted using Ancient Spirit Dust and Black Stones.
  • Daily quests, Dark Rifts and Black Spirit’s Adventure: these give stones or the materials for them.
  • Central Market: stones can be bought outright, which is what the price field in the calculator is for.

Because the stone counts in the charts run into the tens of thousands, most players use a mix: farm what they can and buy the rest when the price is reasonable.

Common Caphras Mistakes

  • Using the PEN chart for TET gear: a TET boss armor needs far fewer stones than the same piece at PEN.
  • Using the main-weapon chart for an awakening weapon: awakening weapons cost more at every level.
  • Forgetting Dim Tree: Dim Tree Spirit’s Armor has its own chart, above normal boss armor.
  • Expecting Caphras levels to survive enhancement: enhancing the item resets the Caphras level.
  • Filling to C20 on gear you plan to replace: the stats stop with the item.
  • Comparing stone counts instead of silver: what matters is the price you pay per stone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Stone Counts

How many Caphras Stones to C20 on PEN boss armor?

21,744 stones from C0 to C20. Dim Tree Spirit’s Armor needs 24,460.

How many Caphras Stones does a PEN weapon need?

A PEN boss main weapon or sub-weapon needs 29,403 stones to C20, and a PEN awakening weapon needs 33,768.

How many stones is C0 to C10?

On PEN boss armor, 7,224 stones; on a PEN main weapon, 8,895; on a TET boss armor, 3,879. Every gear type is different, so use the calculator for yours.

Cost

How much silver is a full Caphras fill?

It is the stone count multiplied by your market price. At 3,000,000 silver a stone, filling a PEN boss armor to C20 costs about 65.2 billion silver.

Is Caphras worth it?

That depends on the price of stones, your gear and how long you plan to keep the item. The calculator shows the stones, the silver and the exact stat gain for each step, so you can compare a few targets before committing.

Mechanics

Can Caphras Stones fail?

No. Stones add Caphras EXP with no failure chance. The risk only appears when you use a C20 item’s guaranteed enhancement, which sets max durability to 0.

Do Caphras levels transfer when I enhance?

Only 10% of the Caphras EXP carries over on a successful enhancement, and 50% is kept on a failure without Crons.

Can I use Caphras Stones on accessories or Blackstar gear?

No. Accessories, Blackstar gear, Fallen God armor, Godr-Ayed weapons, Labreska, Dahn’s gloves, Ator’s shoes, and Naru, Tuvala and quest gear cannot take Caphras Stones.

Summary

Caphras costs are fixed per level, so the maths is simple: subtract the total at your current level from the total at your target, then multiply the remainder by the stone price. The charts differ by enhancement level and gear type, and enhancing the item resets the levels, so check the numbers for your exact piece in the calculator above before you start spending.

Caphras charts are community data compiled from in-game values, published in the GrumpyG Caphras sheets, and can change with game updates.
